Dr Julia Higgins – Chiropractor
Julia was born and raised on a small farm in Gippsland Victoria. After finishing her schooling in Sale, she went on to complete her Bachelor of Applied Science (Clinical) and Bachelor of Chiropractic Science at RMIT University in Melbourne in 1997. Julia worked in both Melbourne and Bacchus Marsh before purchasing this clinic in 1999. Julia has grown and developed Ballarat Integrated Health Centre into a busy and respected clinic in the 20 years of her ownership. She continues to work at the Ballarat practice as well as her Bacchus Marsh clinic. Julia and her husband Stace have two sons, Thomas and Cameron. Julia enjoys playing in the Bacchus Marsh tennis and basketball associations, as well as being involved locally with her kids. Julia is available Tuesday & Thursday
Dr Jessica Mibus – Chiropractor
Jess is originally from the Western District, having grown up on the family farm west of Portland. After completing her schooling, she went on to spend a year in England working as a volunteer. Returning to Australia, Jess attended RMIT University in Melbourne and graduating in 2008 with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Complementary Medicine- Chiropractic) and a Masters in Clinical Chiropractic. She has since divided her time between her young family and working in both the Bacchus Marsh and this practice. Jess and her husband Jon have three daughters, Lorelei, Philippa & Tabitha. She still manages to find time for the occasional book and enjoys downtime by being crafty. Jess is now back from maternity leave and works all day Monday, Thursday 9-2 and 1 x Saturday per month.
Dr Laura Keating – Chiropractor
Laura grew up in Williamstown, after spending her early life in Singapore and the United States. She graduated from her Bachelor of Applied Science and Masters of Clinical Chiropractic degrees with distinction, at RMIT University in Melbourne. She was lucky enough to participate in an overseas placement in India in her final year. Laura enjoys teaching dry needling courses in Melbourne every other weekend, taking her dopey golden retriever for walks and a nice glass of red. Laura is available Monday & Friday.
Dr Michael Landry – Chiropractor
Michael is a 1993 graduate of the historic American Palmer College of Chiropractic. His 27 years of experience has involved clinics in the USA, Tasmania, Victoria and South Australia. In 2014, he started a 2-year position at a clinic in country South Australia seeing patients in mining towns of Roxbury Downs and Whyalla, as well as small farming towns on the Eyre Peninsula. Here he offered relief to a lot of the miners, as well as farmers, secretaries, child care workers, police officers, students, athletes and a large number of retired and elderly patients. Michael is the proud father of 4 children (Addison, twins – Lane & Keely and a son Cooper). In addition he is an accomplished speaker of 20 years of Toastmaster International training. He is now a proud resident of Ballarat and enjoying life in the area. He wants to bring his clinical expertise to the Ballarat community. He works all day Tuesday & Wednesday as well as Saturday mornings.
Dr Verity Mercieca – Chiropractor (Locum)
Verity grew up in Bacchus Marsh and had a very active childhood which introduced her to chiropractic care at a young age. She developed an interest in the benefits of this type of health management, which led her to study and recently complete her Bachelor of Health Science and Bachelor of Applied Science (Chiropractic) at RMIT University in Bundoora. In her spare time she plays tennis at the Bacchus Marsh Lawn Tennis Club, enjoys cooking, hiking, playing her saxophone and hanging out with her cat Alvin. With sports training (football, netball & basketball) and dry needling experience, she has a passion for holistic chiropractic care. We welcome Verity to our team as a locum when needed.
Wendy Rumble – Massage Therapist
Wendy started her journey in massage in 1997 after losing her first son in 1996. She graduated from the Ballarat University in Advanced Diploma of Myotherapy in 2000. She is also trained in Bowen Therapy/Cupping/Lymphatic Drainage/Reflexology and Dry Needling. She has had over 20 years clinical experience in the field. Wendy and her husband Garry have been married for 36 years and have 8 grandchildren. Both Wendy and Garry love to go camping and travel in their motor-home. She enjoys her garden, her grandchildren and crocheting. She works all day Monday & Tuesday, Thursday morning and every second Saturday.
Steve Guy – Myotherapist
Steve graduated from the Australian College of Sports Therapy in 2009 with an Advanced Diploma in Remedial Massage (Myotherapy). Since then he has worked for the Victorian Bushrangers Cricket team, the Darley Football Club and privately in Ballarat. Steve specializes in remedial massage, pregnancy massage, corrective exercise, dry needling, functional cupping as well as routine maintenance massage. He has also completed a course in Oncology Massage. In Steve’s spare time he is a keen gardener, enjoys playing basketball and tennis, and enjoys traveling with his wife Sarah & Son Ethan. Steve is available on Wednesday and Friday.
Nina Walton – Office Manager
Nina has been working here as our office manager for 10 years. She was born and raised in Ballarat and lives locally and loves to travel the world with her husband Randall. She has two sons – Luke & Zachary and two very much loved grand daughter’s – Chloe & Amelia. If you need anything just call her and she will point you in the right direction. She works Monday – Friday.
Tamra McLean – Part-time Receptionist
Tamra works for us as a part-time receptionist. She lives locally with her partner. She works Friday afternoon & Saturday morning and when needed.
